Shortly after the start of the year, 139 college players had one of the most important days of their collegiate season, as the first two rounds of the MLS Draft took place. Those who drift in these two rounds have the greatest chance of playing in the USL and perhaps even in the MLS in the future. The faster you drift, the better the chances.
This year, however, MLS had changed the concept of the draft somewhat, so that not all teams were in one room, but the announcements had to take place via live streams. Daniel, Vincent and Anne discuss what it looked like and whether it’s an idea for the next few years in the 40th episode of the MLS podcast.
Of course, this episode also deals with the respective choices of the teams and newly selected players who are the most promising, who will be most likely to be seen in MLS next season, while others will probably only get a contract for the USL team.
Four German players were also drafted this year. Let them be selected and when they were selected and by whom is also explained by Daniel, Vincent and Anne and how they evaluate his chances of playing in the 2020 MLS season.
