Bundesliga club Schalke 04 has extended with service provider Amine Harit. As the club announced on Wednesday in a video on Twitter, the 22-year-old Moroccan in Gelsenkirchen signed a new working document until 2024.
"I've learned a new word: contract renewal," said the attacking midfielder with a smile.
Harit, whose contract should have expired in 2021, has a big role in six goals that Schalke is currently ranked fourth in the league. "And I want many more," the Moroccan international added.
Harit was in the summer of 2017 for eight million euros from FC Nantes to Royal Blues changed. After a strong first season, he had many problems this past season and was even on the sales list in the meantime. Under the new coach David Wagner, he developed into an athlete.
"Because of his excellent performance in recent months, he has, of course, gained the attention of many clubs," said Sports Board Jochen Schneider.
Wagner emphasized: "Amine is one of the many players between the ages of 19 and 23 who with their great potential could be the club's sporting future." Harit sees himself "in my sporting development is not finished" and will play with Schalke "international again".
