Volland missing Leverkusen injured

Three days after the 2-1 success against the Portuguese runner-up, Bayer coach Peter Bosz threw funf verendedents at the rotation machine. In the jengest starting eleven in the ‘ra of the Netherlands, winter newcomer Exequiel Exequiel Palacios celebrated a strong Bundesliga debacle after his withdrawn ban from Argentina, Kevin Volland was missing slightly battered.

The lack of their top scorers is also noticeable in the dominant Werkself in front of 23,703 partially disguised spectators on Carnival Sunday in the initial phase. Despite clear ball possession advantages, the creativeness and penetration in the attacking game was lacking against the “across the entire field in man coverage”. Except for a too centrally placed distance shot from Amiri (10th) little happened.

On the other side, top goalkeeper Florian Niederlechner, after a corner (18th) and Philipp Max per Freisto (21st), narrowly missed the more courageous G’ste. Bosz immediately reacted to the small urge phase of the team of coach Martin Schmidt and changed from three-way to four-man chain to stabilize the midfield center. This immediately came to fruition.

After the change, the hosts honed the pace and against now Augsburgers ‘overwhelmed the fr’he decision. Wendell (49th) failed to get past Koubek before Mitchell Weiser (53rd) pulled free after the next great play of the strong Havertz.

Amiri did better after a solo run from the center line and finished with his first goal in the Werkself jersey. Again amiri (64th) and Havertz with a slat shot (66th) awarded fer the now superior Bosz-Elf. Niederlechner gave away the best chance for the follow-up goal (89th).
