Bundesliga “News” Matthus: Haaland not a “saviour” – TOP STORIES

by: Adam Smith

Expectations for newcomer Erling Haaland are huge at Borussia Dortmund. Lothar Matthus, ex-professional of FC Bayern, has now warned against frenzy of enthusiasm at BVB.

“He fits into the System of Dortmund, will certainly score his goals, but should not be seen as the sole saviour,” Matthus wrote in his “Sky” column.

The record-breaking Dortmund international for the transfer coup: “It is positive that BVB has finally reacted very sensibly on the construction site in the storm. They have committed a great sturker, but you shouldn’t be overwhelmed with pressure.”

The responsibility in the rack round was not solely on the shoulders of Haaland.

“The whole Dortmund team has to perform better now than in the first round,” Mathaus explains, adding: “First of all, they have to do better and souvernerwith féhrungen and bring them to the finish line. If even all the power output increases and Haaland immediately gets it right, then Of course Dortmund will also be playing for the title.”

“Flick did not ask for information for nothing”

One team that BVB has to deal with in the title race is FC Bayern. “If they are unkind to the initial phase, they are, as always, a very hot title candidate. Even if not the top favorite at the moment,” matthus said.

The fact that trainer Hansi Flick last ‘publically susclaimed in winter’ is understandable to the former Munchner professional: “Hansi Flick has asked for reinforcements for nothing. He certainly didn’t do that to attack Salihamidzic, as a h-chstens to tickle him.”

Flick spére the pressure to succeed as head coach and wants to reach the maximum, Matthus said. Nevertheless, it is difficult for a top team like Bayern to make sense in the winter.

Matthus does not see Schalke as Champions League candidates

Next summer, Bayern have already announced a new addition. Alexander Nebel from FC Schalke 04 moves to S’bener Strae. “I still can’t understand the transfer from Alexander Nunbel’s point of view, but he will behave impeccably until the end,” Mathaus is sure.

The 58-year-old does not believe that the change will have a transgaming.orging impact on Schalke. ‘I don’t see Schalke as champions league candidates. But quite apart from that, I don’t think the hickhack around the Torter costs transgaming.orging success.”
