Rb Leipzig have the top of the Table league for the negative conclusion of the Haar-Affer and internal quarrels.
In the top duel of 20th matchdays, the team of coach Julian Nagelsmann beat Borussia Mönchengladbach after a 0:2 still to the back, but in the end has to settle for a 2:2 (0:2). This means that Bayern are again top of the table for the first time since the beginning of October, a week before the top game in Monchen.
Alassane Pléa (24th) provided the first shock moment with the Gladbacher Fuhrung in the Red Bull Arena, which sold out with 42,146 spectators. Jonas Hofmann (35th) gave up Lukas Klostermann before the break after a blackout. Patrik Schick (49th) scored, in the 60th minute Pléa saw first yellow, then straight yellow-red because of Meckerns. Christopher Nkunku (89th) still managed the deserved compensation in excess.
Before the game, RB captain Willi Orban put on a fireworks display – but it was a festival of mistakes. In a low-level game, neither team did much. Against tight-knit chains, both RB and Gladbach lack imagination as pass and ball security. The first-time national player sitting on the bench, Spanish Dani Olmo, was well done from Leipzig’s point of view.
Then Gladbach made the breakthrough, because the strong Marcus Thuram prevailed on the right side against Dayot Upamecano. Ober Hofmann and Oscar Wendt have the ball to Pléa, who successfully completed the wonderful move from just over eleven metres. It was already the funt game in series in which Leipzig got into a rack stand.
Injured Kramer is “responsive”
RB was impressed, but Gladbach was also frightened. Christoph Kramer threw himself into the run of Timo Werner and – hit by his thigh – remained dazed. Tobias Strobl (28th) came into the game for the 2014 World Champion. Gladbach’s assistant coach Alexander Zickler gave a warning at half-time on “Sky”: “He’s back, he’s responsive.”
Shortly on Thuram (34th) was free through, Upamecano got the fuo in between in h-chst need. One minute spéter, Klostermann clutched a ball without not in the middle, just before the fun of Florian Neuhaus. He forwarded the ball to the penalty area Hofmann continued – a hook around Upamecano, a sloppy into the long corner, 0:2.
Nagelsmann reacted after the break, brought Schick and Yussuf Poulsen and attacked with four stubborn stalks. That pays off. Gladbach’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer collided with Dennis Zakaria on the pitch, lost the ball and the golden-backed Schick pushed in for the post. A good ten minutes more spéter Pléa complained so violently to referee Tobias Stieler that the attacker saw yellow twice in a few seconds and had to leave the pitch twice.
Leipzig were nimble not only numerically and soured on the equaliser – long: The first big chance missed Schick (70th) by head after a free-kick. Olmo (78th), who has since been substituted, failed with a shot from the penalty area boundary, werners (80th) also failed. Olmo hit the post (82nd) before Nkunku’s long-range shot hit the long corner.
