The new Copa del Rey it’s still taking shape. After the madness of matches, 55 specifically, lived during the last three days in the KO competition Spanish football, the first surprises have already taken place.

Two matches (Pontevedra vs Ibiza and Mérida vs La Nucía) are pending, which were suspended and will be played on 8 January. In the draw they will be an ‘X ball’. That is, they will be framed regardless of what happens in their party.

In addition to those ranked in this first round, the Yeclano Deportivo – exempt in the first phase of the tournament – is added to the draw that will be held today, Friday 20 December, in the Football City of Las Rozas. It will not be until the next round, that of sixteenth finals when the four teams that will play in the Spanish Super Cup will be incorporated: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia CF.

What will the King’s Cup draw look like?

In this second draw, 28 games, as far as possible, will face the Second B and Third clubs that have passed the previous phase, with the winners of First and Second to Single Match.

The matches will be played in the field of the lower category, or, being both of the same, in which it came out in the first place. The 28 qualifiers will be played on the weekend of 11 and 12 January 2020, dates on which the Spanish Super Cup final will also be played.
