Ligue 1 - L1: The numbers are formal, here are the eleven of the decade - FRENCH FOOTBALL 1

On the last day of 2019, many media outlets are unveiling their eleven types of the decade on Ligue 1. But if we rely solely on numbers, what does that look like?

All you had to do was ask, and Opta did. The world’s leading transgaming.orgs data company, the huge database, has unveiled its type eleven of the decade by relying solely on Opta indices, and selecting only players who have played at least 100 Ligue 1 matches. If the presence of some players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kylian Mbappé or Thiago Silva and Marquinhos is not very surprising, this eleven reserves some surprises.

In the slavery, we find Christophe Jallet, who played for Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais with great consistency. Less consistent but sometimes brilliant, Dimitri Payet is on this standard team of the decade, according to The Figures of Opta, where he forms the pair in midfield with the controversial Marco Verratti. Another player whose presence may surprise: Mathieu Valbuena, who divided French football fans by joining Olympique Lyonnais after a long season at Olympique de Marseille. In addition, the player in the left-back position will make the PSG fans a bit nostalgic as he is Maxwell, arguably the best player of the QSI era in this position.

Eleven of the decade according to figures from Opta In: Ruffier – Jallet, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Maxwell – Verratti, Payet, Valbuena, Di Maria – Ibrahimovic, Mbappé.
