Mattias has been exercising this position on an interim basis since the march Zvonimir Boban last summer to join the Milan structure. Mattias Grafstrom came serving at the head of the president’s FIFA personal office Gianni Infantino.

In this way Mattias takes full responsibility for all the organization’s football activities, including the organization of all FIFA tournaments and events, the promotion of football in the 211 member federations and the promotion of technical initiatives around the world.

Club World Cup decision

On the other hand, and despite the rumours that have emerged in recent dates, FIFA have never been in the event of a Club World Cup every two years. Least of which time has not yet been released, the format that will begin to run in the summer of 2021 in China, replacing the Confederations Cup, and pre-dispute in December 2022 for the Qatar World Cup.

This wish comes from the clubs more, further taking into account the high revenue severing it assures the 24 teams of the six confederations that will participate in it. In the case of UEFA, the champions of the Champions League and Europa League editions will attend the 2017-2018 editions until the 2020-2021 season. As we already told in SPORT on October 25th, it will not be known until the FIFA Executive Committee in March whether team invitations will be accepted for the tournament.

Although, as we already advanced then, FIFA is not in the meandere for including this figure in this tournament. And if everything is done, it indicates that they would be for the Oceania teams and not UEFA teams where they understand that they are well covered with these eight seats.
