In addition to Christian Polanc and Massimo Sinata, YOU are one of the absolute original rocks of the show “Let’s Dance”. Isabel Edvardsson (37) has been part of the dance ensemble since the first season, in the past eleven years she only exhibited twice – in 2010, because she helped out as a juror and most recently because of her pregnancy and the birth of her son. In 2019, the power blonde made her big comeback alongside Benjamin Piwko. And she will be back in 2020. Who she swirls with this year on the dance floor will be decided on February 21, 2020 in the big get-to-know-you show.

Isabel Edvardsson has ended her active career as a dance athlete

The professional dancer Isabel Edvardsson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden and has been dancing since she was 13. Parallel to an education in contemporary dance, ballet and jazz dance, she began with standard and Latin tournament dance.

At the age of 21, she moved to Germany to dance with her dance and spouse Marcus Weiß as a professional, specializing in standard dance. With the victory of the European Championship at the end of 2007 Marcus Weiß and Isabel Edvardsson ended their active career as dance athletes and this after many successful years as professional dancers for Germany.

In 2015 Isabel Edvardsson opened her own dance school “Edvardsson Die Tanzschule” in Hamburg. Today she concentrates mainly on her fields of activity as owner, dance teacher, as well as professional dancer, presenter and mother.

She was the very first “Let’s Dance” winner

Isabel Edvardsson has been with us since the first “Let’s Dance” season. The Swedish-born actor and actor Wayne Carpendale formed the first winning couple in the show history of “Let’s Dance”. In the third season Isabel exchanged the dance floor for the jury desk, but a year later she returned to the ensemble as a professional dancer.

In 2014 she won the seventh season together with Alexander Klaws. In addition to Ekaterina Leonova, the dance transgaming.orgs coach and judge is the only female professional dancer in the ensemble who managed to win two trophies.

In 2016 and 2017 Isabel Edvardsson appeared as a new letter fairy in the show “Glücksrad”. In January 2017, she also took part in the singing competition of the 5-part RTL music show series “IT TAKES 2”.

After announcing the end of her participation in the anniversary season 2017 after the fourth broadcast, Isabel returned to the “Let’s Dance” parquet in 2019. In 2019, she became the first German professional dancer to dance with a deaf participant. With actor and martial artist Benjamin Piwko she took third place and took part in the first “Let’s Dance” live tour with him in the same year.
