Rodrygo and Vinicius make history in the Champions League - SPANISH FOOTBALL 1

Rodrygo and Vinicius are the fashionable couple of European football. Both players scored against Bruges and set a new record for Madrid in a scenario as important as the Champions League. For the first time in the history of the Champions League, two under-20s score a goal in the same match (via MisterChip).

Vinicius debuted in the mainland competition, while Rodrygo has already recorded four goals in the current edition. The two Brazilians debuted trident with Jovic and consolidated the fundamentals for theirs against bruges. Before the Espanyol, they already agreed from the beginning and made the delights of the public.

Madrid will face three vital matches in just eight days: Valencia (15 December), Barcelona (day 18) and Athletic (day 22). A tough calendar that puts Zidane in trouble when choosing a fixed XI, especially in attack. For now, Rodrygo and Vinicius are already applying.

Similar sensations

Vinicius started this season against Celta. That start was only a mirage because, before the match against Espanyol, he racked up three matches without playing a single minute (he had only played 26.2% of the minutes with a total of 448). A few numbers low, but they are on the rise with their last two picks.

The six-goal background Rodrygo are an incentive for Zizou can still give you opportunities. But he has not enjoyed regularity: five starts -this was his best streak) and a substitute again. Now, he has another opportunity ahead: possible ownership in Mestalla and options to be in the XI against Barca.

Different partners

Rodrygo and Vinicius have already formed two very different tridents. The first with Benzema (they beat Espanyol 2-0) and the second with Jovic (victory over Bruges 1-3). The illusion that these two generate in the Madrid is parish worthy of study.

Since Cristiano’s departure, the famous ‘BBC’ is already history and having a pitchfork of such dimensions also seems to be. Lopetegui, Solari and Zidane failed to build a society as stable as the previous one. In the absence of stability in the offensive pitchfork, what does seem to be clear is that the two Brazilians are leaving good feelings.
