Santi Denia offered the list of 18 convened to the friendly Spain U-19 will play next Wednesday 26 February (11:00 hours) against Denmark in Pinatar Arena (Murcia). La Rojita will start this rally next Monday 24, so footballers will not have to miss any commitment to their clubs.
It will be the second meeting of the year for this new batch of footballers born in 2001, after the friendly they played last year January 15 against Italy in the Football City of Las Rozas (1-1).
The match, despite being friendly, will be very important because it is the last before the Elite Round that La Rojita will play next March. Spain is in its group, qualifier for the Euros, along with Belgium, Bulgaria and Macedonia. Despite being the current champion, the Spanish national team does not have the automatic ticket. Achieving this is vitally important because the tournament is a qualifier for the U-20 World Cup.
In the list of 18 Real Madrid, Villarreal and Espanyol stand out against the rest with three footballers each. The call could have been led by Villarreal, as there is Iván Morante, signed by Madrid from the Castilians in the past winter market. It also highlights the presence of Pedri, who recently had the U-17 at the World Cup and has already made the leap to the U-19 despite being in 2002.
Here’s the list
Arnau Tenas (Barcelona), Camel and Marc Tenas (Atlético), Pacheco (Real Sociedad), Beñat Prados (Athletic), Pedri (Las Palmas), Mollejo (Deportivo), Bryan Gil (Leganés), Pérez, Fortuño and Melamed (Espanyol), Morante, Gutiérrez and Pablo Ramón (Real Madrid), Cabrera, Cabrera, Baena and García Prades (Villarreal), Casas y Ramón Enrique (Malaga), Geovanni Barba (Betis), Herrero (Levante) and Borja Sainz (Alavés).
