Olympique Lyonnais beat Girondins of Bordeaux 2-1
Bordeaux goal: Briand (15th)
Goals for Olympique Lyonnais: Cornet (50′), Dembélé (53′)
Led against the course of the match, Olympique Lyonnais won in Bordeaux (2-1) on Saturday during the 20th match of Ligue 1. A success that temporarily puts Rhodanian in fifth place in the championship.
Olympique Lyonnais provided the essentials for Bordeaux, but there will be something to be said about the inefficiency and the huge scare at the end of the match. The Gones dominated from start to finish, however, with opportunities in the first quarter of an hour. One still wonders how Cornet lost the empty goal… All the more so because Andersen’s big ball opened the scoring for former Lyon Briand player (1-0, 15th). A totally unexpected goal like the Girondins showed nothing.
And the face of the game didn’t change. The OL was in control and easily traversed Bordeaux’s defense. But awkwardly, Cornet, again himself, missed a clear second chance before the break! He was beginning to worry about Lyon. But when the visitors returned from the locker room, they reversed the situation. First thanks to Cornet (1-1, 50o) with a bit of success this time. Then through the dembélé scorer (1-2, 53rd). In the street, Bordeaux seemed to have been taken to take a suitcase.
VAR saves OL
But the inefficiency of Aouar, Cornet and Dembélé miraculously left the Girondins in the game. Therefore, the OL was exposed to an unlikely equalization. And as you might expect, Bordeaux’s goal came from Koscielny’s right foot… before the VAR cancels out its achievement for an offside to the millimeter! President Jean-Michel Aulas was relieved in the stands! Despite this scare, Lyon gained logic and temporarily moved to fifth place on L1.
