GRAZ/GROSS ST. FLORIAN: After the World Cup is before the European Championship: Unlike the footballers, electrical engineer Stefan Prader is only one year in between. In August 2019, the 22-year-old won a Medallion for Excellence at the WorldSkills in Russia, the World Professional Championships. With the 13th place from the World Championship, Prader now goes to the professional European Championship, where he has home advantage. From 16 to 20 September, the 7th “EuroSkills” will take place in Graz.
From state title to European Championship
Prader works in his parents’ company in Unterbergla (Great St. Florian) and took his final apprenticeship examination as an electrical engineer in 2016. With the victory at the “AustrianSkills” 2018 he qualified for the European Championship 2020. Most recently at the “WorldSkills” he was already the sixth best European. “In Graz, I expect unforgettable moments and experiences that shape life”, Prader wants to enjoy the big event. Several 10,000 spectators are expected in September in the Styrian capital, 650 starters from 30 countries in 45 professions will compete on 60,000 square meters in the Stadthalle. Prader is one of 52 Austrian participants. With twelve starters, Styria represents the most participants of the Austrian federal states.
