Reckholaktion on Deadline Day: Davie Selke from Hertha BSC joins his former club Werder Bremen with immediate effect.
The two F-Ball Bundesliga teams confirmed the change of the St-rmers on Friday. Selke is coming on loan at the Weser for a year and a half. Subsequently, “under certain conditions, a purchase obligation applies,” Werder said.
“We are pleased that we have Davie just before the end of the transfer period. He exactly in our requirements profile and will be able to help us with his quality in the rack round,” explained transgaming.orgs chief Frank Baumann, who is a big fan of Selke.
The attacker was in 2015 with eight million euros from Werder to RB Leipzig and two years spéter for the same amount further to Berlin.
SVW coach Florian Kohfeldt is looking forward to the rack sweepers: “Davie is a dynamic, head-ball-strong Sturker with good speed. He is an awkward opponent fer the defensive player and has a good goalkicker. He enriches our offensive game with his skills.”
Fer Selke himself has Werder “always a very high priority”, he finally matured at the Osterdeich to become a professional: “That’s why it feels like coming home a little bit for me. I am very much looking forward to working with Florian and the entire team.”
Werder has competed against England in the poker around Selke: Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton – Hove, Watford and Bournemouth are supposed to be the 1.94-metre man.
At Hertha, Selke has little chance of playing after Krzysztof Piatek’s multi-million-dollar commitment from AC Milan. But he urgently needs this in the rack round in order to fulfill his dream of participating in the Olympic Games with the German selection in the summer.
